Full Day Theory/Practical –
3.5 hours’ classroom training and assessment (with online or workbook pre-work)
Students complete pre-course learning and attend a full day course (up to *7 hours) with their trainer. This course is ideal for those with limited experience or those who prefer to spend more time in the classroom refreshing their knowledge and practicing the skills involved in first aid, including practical and theory assessments. Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (HLTAID012) is the industry standard, Nationally Recognized (AQF) Approved First Aid course for citizens and working professionals.
Express Course – Face to Face Practical
Express: 1 hour (Assessment Only, Must have done a first aid course in the past 3 years)
EXPRESS- Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (HLTAID012) – Students complete pre-course learning and attend a shorter course of up to *2 hours with their trainer. This course is ideal for those with experience, having completed first aid training previously or for those working in the medical/childcare field. Students attending an express course will complete the practical assessments only as it is expected they have enough experience and the completion of the pre-course learning assisted with refreshing their knowledge to prepare for the assessment. Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (HLTAID012), one assessment will include the completion of an incident report form following a practical scenario. All theory assessments are completed prior to attending the assessment.
Pre-Course Learning:
Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (HLTAID012)
– The online pre-course learning consists of presentations, and multiple-choice questions aimed to prepare students for further training and or assessment. The pre-course learning can also be completed by a hard copy workbook, or in-class with the trainer if organized beforehand.

Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting’s statement of Attainment can be issued on the same day and is renewable every 3 years with the CPR unit renewable annually.
Our Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course satisfies 4 units of competency from the Health Training Package (HLT07):
