What happens on the day
- Complete your online pre-learning. You will get a link once you book. Do this before you come in.
- Arrive 10 minutes early. We check your USI and get you settled.
- Hands-on practical with a trainer. You will be on the floor doing compressions, so wear something comfortable.
- Get your certificate. Your statement of attainment is issued the same day or the next business day, on successful completion of the course.

How long is my first aid certificate valid?
CPR (HLTAID009) should be renewed every 12 months. First aid (HLTAID011) and childcare first aid (HLTAID012) are valid for three years, with an annual CPR refresher in between.
Are there prerequisites for the first aid course?
There are no prerequisites for HLTAID011. You will need a USI (Unique Student Identifier), which is free to create, and you need to finish the online pre-learning before your practical session.
What does HLTAID011 cover?
Three units: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support, and HLTAID011 Provide first aid. HLTAID012 adds a fourth unit for education and care settings.

No. Renewing is the same class as certifying for the first time — book HLTAID009 for CPR, or HLTAID011 if your full first aid certificate is also due.
