Before You Book Your Training

This Student Information page explains what students need to know before booking and attending training with Best First Aid Training. It includes information about student handbooks, USI requirements, online learning, pre-course learning, course attendance, cancellations, refunds, RPL and nationally recognised training.

We provide CPR, First Aid including CPR, Childcare First Aid, Manual Handling and group training across Parramatta, Penrith, Blacktown, Liverpool, Richmond and Western Sydney. We also offer online Child Protection training for students across Australia.

Student reminder: Please check your course date, location, course type, online learning requirements and assessment requirements before attending your training session.

Courses Covered by This Student Information

The information on this page applies to students enrolling in training through Best First Aid Training, including face-to-face, blended and online learning options where applicable.

HLTAID009 CPR CPR course for work, study, compliance and annual renewal.
HLTAID011 First Aid incl. CPR First Aid course including CPR for workplaces and students.
HLTAID012 Childcare First Aid First Aid in an education and care setting, including CPR.
Manual Handling Manual tasks safety training for aged care, disability and workplace teams.
Child Protection Online CHCPRT025 online Child Protection training available Australia-wide.
Group Training Workplace and group bookings for businesses and organisations.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Students completing nationally recognised training may need a Unique Student Identifier, commonly called a USI. Your USI helps link your nationally recognised training records in Australia.

If you do not already have a USI, you can create one through the official Australian Government USI website.

Online Learning & Pre-Course Learning

Some courses include online pre-course learning before the face-to-face training or assessment session. This helps students prepare for practical training and assessment before attending class.

Once you enrol, online learning login details may be emailed automatically. Please complete any required online learning before your session to avoid delays on the day.

CPR Course Standard CPR includes approximately 1 hour of online pre-learning before face-to-face training.
First Aid including CPR Standard First Aid includes approximately 2 hours of online pre-learning before face-to-face training.
Childcare First Aid including CPR Standard Childcare First Aid includes approximately 2.5 hours of online pre-learning.
Child Protection Online CHCPRT025 is delivered 100% online and can be completed from anywhere in Australia.

Alternative Learning Options

For students who prefer not to complete online learning, alternative options may be available depending on the course and prior arrangement.

  • Hard-copy workbook instead of online modules, if arranged beforehand
  • In-class delivery with the trainer, if arranged beforehand and available
  • Alternative course structures where available
Important: Course duration can vary depending on course type, group size, learner needs and assessment requirements.

Course Formats

Depending on the course, students may be able to choose between standard, express, blended or online delivery options.

Standard Course Best for students who are new to training or want more trainer support and practice time.
Express Course Suitable for eligible students with previous experience who are confident with the course content.
Face-to-Face Practical Students attend practical training or assessment at an available training branch.
Online Training Some courses, such as Child Protection, may be completed fully online.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning may be available for eligible students who have existing skills, knowledge, training or workplace experience relevant to a course.

Students who want to apply for RPL should review the RPL Information Kit and follow the application process outlined in the document.

Cancellation, Transfer & Refund Information

Refund or transfer requests should be submitted in writing. Course places are limited, and trainer, venue and administration arrangements may be made in advance.

  • Transfers: In certain circumstances, you may transfer your booking to another person or date. Up to 3 transfers per booking may be allowed.
  • Refund processing: If approved, refunds may be deposited into the student’s nominated bank account within 14 days. An administrative fee may apply.
  • Requests made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session: Full refund may be available minus a $25 administration fee.
  • Requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled session: No refund may apply; you may be able to rebook at a 20% discount.
  • Non-attendance or late arrival: No refund may apply.
  • If LLN support needs prevent delivery of a suitable learning plan: A full refund may be available, although a $25 administration fee may still apply.
  • If Best First Aid Training is unable to deliver the course or session: A full refund may be available.

Complaints & Appeals

If a refund request, transfer request, assessment decision or training concern is not resolved, students may access the complaints and appeals process for further review.

Students should provide clear details of the issue, relevant booking information and any supporting documentation so the matter can be reviewed properly.

Nationally Recognised Training Disclaimer

Completion of a course is subject to meeting all course requirements, assessment requirements and any applicable requirements in the relevant scope of registration.

  • We cannot guarantee successful completion if course or assessment requirements are not met.
  • We cannot guarantee employment outcomes after completing a course.
  • Students must participate in required learning and assessment activities.
  • Students should advise us early if they have language, literacy, numeracy, physical or learning support needs.
